When Josh and Teresa came to me to shoot their New Year’s Eve wedding, I was super excited to finally have some legit NYE’s plans. I feel like I never end up doing anything for it…mostly because I love staying in and being comfortable, but I’m so glad they hired me to shoot their wedding. It was probably one of the coolest NYE’s plans I will ever have! And to shoot it in such a beautiful space was a dream!
Josh and Teresa had their NYE’s wedding on the last day of 2019 at the Merrimon-Wynne house in Downtown Raleigh. Incorporating a mix of Christmas decorations with the beautiful clean, yet vintage aesthetic of the Merrimon-Wynne house, made their wedding space just feel so cozy, nostalgic, and in a way, let me hang on to Christmas just a little bit longer.
While their venue was grand, they kept the guests and wedding party to a minimum, so it really felt like a small and intimate wedding. With it being so deep into Winter and wanting to extend the party until midnight, they chose to have their ceremony inside the house after sunset. So people, if you do it right, you can definitely have a ceremony after sunset! Just be sure to do it at the Merrimon-Wynne house again ha!
After the ceremony, they held their reception in the neighboring carriage house. They hand an amazing live band that felt like a concert experience; I was super impressed. Josh and Teresa ended their wedding evening with a countdown, sparklers, and a drive off into the new year! Enjoy their photos!
